One thing you’re sure to find in a Trinidad & Tobago bakery is Hops Bread. These rolls have been a staple for generations. Years ago they were crispier on the outside (which my mom prefers). I however love these soft airy rolls.
When I first got my KitchenAid Mixer I was excited to try out all sorts of things. Making bread has always been something I suck at…really suck at. So I figured with the mixer doing all the work, how could it go wrong? Go wrong it did! Multiple times.
I really love bread. Especially hot bread straight from the oven with melted butter. So I got a bread machine. I’ve made all kinds of bread, rolls and pizza using it. I even got some bread machine recipe books. I don’t remember which recipe I used, but I used the knead cycle on the bread machine. It worked!!!! Soft nice hops bread which melts in your mouth. I don’t know what I’d do without a bread machine if I wanted homemade bread other than wait for my mom or dad to make some. There aren’t many things I’ve tried and failed at (repeatedly), but bread making is one of them.
